Places the World in Earth, Aurelia, or Parallax without creating another codebase.
The Life Engine / World Contracts
World Rules & Lifecycles
Understand how a playable World persists, advances, admits players, and eventually archives.
What this surface promises.
Every World belongs to Earth, Aurelia, or Parallax and combines a lifecycle with an Epoch capability contract. The Reality establishes the setting family, the lifecycle controls time, and the Epoch defines what is possible in the era. The World Directory is the single place to browse every playable World.
Defines what exists and what is possible in the era.
Defines how that specific timeline persists, advances, admits players, and archives.
Owns the population, characters, places, institutions, events, economy, and history.
Continuum
Starts in its flagship present and keeps moving forward. Society, technology, institutions, and eventually spacefaring can emerge through simulated history.
Epoch Eternal
Continues indefinitely inside one broad Epoch. Lives and history advance, but the World does not routinely cross into a fundamentally later Epoch.
Chronicle
Begins in one Epoch and can cross into later Epochs only after its calendar, simulation, evidence, migration, and approval gates are satisfied.
Retired World
Stops accepting new play and simulation advancement. Its finalized history remains available as a read-only archive instead of being erased.
Leaving does not pause the World.
If a player steps away, the shared clock, residents, markets, institutions, and already committed actions continue. Absence protections limit unfair irreversible consequences without turning the World into a private paused save.
Property and money stay in their World.
A home, business, balance, title, or reputation earned in Aurelia cannot be carried into Earth or Parallax. Each World keeps an independent economy and history.
A later era is earned, not switched on.
A Continuum reaches a later Epoch only after its regions, institutions, material conditions, safeguards, content, and required human reviews are ready. Existing lives and obligations are converted with evidence instead of erased.
Browse every World and read its rules before entering.
Each World page explains its lifecycle, Epoch, setting, regions, content edition, and preserved public history.
