The rules for using The Life Engine.
These Terms explain account eligibility, Alpha changes, player creations, conduct, moderation, fictional property, availability, and account closure.

These Terms of Service govern use of The Life Engine, an Alpha web game operated by Logan Pendragon Forge. By creating an account or using the game, you agree to these Terms and the posted Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not create an account or continue using the service.
You must be at least 13 years old. If the law where you live does not allow you to agree to these Terms on your own, a parent or legal guardian must review and permit your use. The Life Engine is not directed to children under 13, and accounts known to belong to children under 13 may be closed and their personal information deleted.
Give accurate registration information, protect your password, and do not share, sell, or transfer your account. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless you promptly report unauthorized access. One account may hold one independent active character in each accepting World.
The game is an Alpha. Features, balance, interfaces, content, and World rules may change. Gameplay Worlds are not routinely reset for testing. Repairs and rollback must follow the applicable World Charter, protect continuity, and preserve or archive records; disposable tests and rehearsals remain separate engineering controls. We will make reasonable efforts to announce material planned changes.
Characters, in-world currency, property, offices, organizations, achievements, and other in-world records exist only inside the game. They have no cash value, cannot be sold for real money, and do not create ownership of the software or a real-world legal interest. Assets and authority do not transfer between Worlds unless a future published rule expressly permits a bounded transfer.
You keep ownership of original content you submit. You grant Logan Pendragon Forge a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, adapt for technical compatibility, display, moderate, and distribute that content only as needed to operate, improve, archive, and promote The Life Engine. You must have the rights needed to submit it. You may remove private drafts; published shared-world history may remain in an attributed archive where deletion would damage other players’ records, subject to privacy law.
Follow the Community Guidelines. Do not harass, threaten, exploit, defraud, impersonate, dox, cheat, automate play without permission, evade restrictions, disrupt the service, probe private systems, trade game value for real money, or upload unlawful or rights-infringing material. Fictional competition does not excuse harm to real people.
We may remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, preserve evidence, or close accounts to protect players, the service, or the law. Immediate protective action may occur before a full review. Where the game provides an appeal, you may ask for a review and receive a recorded outcome. Serious threats or illegal conduct may be referred to appropriate authorities.
We aim to keep the service available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access. Maintenance, security events, provider failures, testing, and circumstances outside reasonable control may interrupt play. We may change these Terms prospectively; material changes will be dated and posted, and continued use after they take effect means acceptance where permitted by law.
The Life Engine is fictional entertainment and an experimental simulation. In-world medical, financial, legal, historical, political, or safety information is not professional advice. To the fullest extent allowed by law, the service is provided as available without implied warranties, but nothing in these Terms removes rights that cannot legally be waived.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Logan Pendragon Forge is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from use of the Alpha. Any direct liability is limited to the greater of amounts you paid for the service during the prior twelve months or 100 US dollars. These limits do not apply where the law forbids them.
You may stop using the game at any time and may request account deletion through Support. We may end or restrict access for violation of these Terms, safety risk, legal necessity, or discontinuation of the service. Provisions concerning ownership, licenses already needed for shared history, disclaimers, limits, and dispute handling survive closure. Questions may be sent through the Support page.
