Your choices last
Homes, relationships, reputations, laws, careers, possessions, and public decisions remain part of the world after you leave.
Many Worlds. Every possible life.
The Life Engine · A persistent civilization simulator
Begin as one specific person in a World that was moving before you arrived and will keep moving after you leave. Choose where you come from, decide what matters, and let the consequences travel.
A welcoming place to begin—and a world with no planned ending.
01 — What it is
The people of the world keep it moving. Players give it direction.
Prices change. Elections finish. Families grow apart or come together. Businesses prosper and fail. Neighborhoods gain identities of their own. Your choices become part of a history shared with everyone who lives there.
Homes, relationships, reputations, laws, careers, possessions, and public decisions remain part of the world after you leave.
You can change direction. Become a caregiver, scholar, entrepreneur, journalist, artist, organizer, criminal, public servant—or something nobody planned for.
Follow one quiet life or take on an entire institution. Helpful navigation and saved accessibility choices let you decide how much of the world to engage with.
02 — What you can do
You do not have to play every system. Begin with the part of life that interests you, then follow the connections wherever they lead.
Build an identity with needs, health, skills, values, ambitions, achievements, and a private plan for the future. Your circumstances matter, but they never lock you into one kind of life.
Turn broad goals into plans for this week, this month, this year, or the next chapter of your life. Add milestones, repeatable routines, and private journal entries without turning play into an attendance schedule.
Take part in situations already unfolding around you. Each response shows its likely costs, risks, and tradeoffs before you commit, then records what actually happened.
Plan trips across real transport routes and compare work, housing, enterprise, and community opportunities against your skills, finances, location, and priorities.
Rent a room, buy property, share a household, pay utilities, furnish spaces, handle repairs, and search for something better when life changes.
Study, train, earn credentials, apply for work, build a reputation, find mentors, change careers, provide services, or start an enterprise of your own.
Earn and spend in-world currency, use banks and credit, save, borrow, insure what matters, trade investments, move goods, own property, and face the consequences of debt.
Make friends, fall in love, form households, raise children, care for relatives, work through conflict, plan an estate, and continue a family story across generations.
Make promises with a clear scope, set boundaries, offer favors without creating silent debt, plan accessible gatherings, and divide household care in ways everyone can understand.
Join organizations, attend events, discover local scenes, follow public conversations, publish claims, investigate stories, and help shape what your region believes about itself.
Vote, campaign, hold office, write proposals, debate laws, serve on councils, manage agencies, appeal official decisions, and answer to the public record.
Enter the underworld through abstract, safety-conscious systems involving crews, plans, evidence, witnesses, investigation, courts, incarceration, and rehabilitation.
Move through regions by public transit or private vehicle. Plan routes, maintain what you drive, keep travel records, relocate, and see geography shape opportunity.
Explore regions, settlements, neighborhoods, and landmarks through the Living Map. Save places, check local conditions, visit with a purpose, and help complete community projects.
Support discovery, respond to environmental pressure, advance technology, build space programs, launch missions, establish settlements, and govern life far from home.
The world continues between visits. Residents pursue their own lives, Chronicles move forward, public events enter the archive, and one generation can inherit the unfinished work of another.
03 — How consequences travel
A personal choice can change a household. A household can affect a neighborhood. Enough local pressure can move a market, reshape an institution, or become the event a later generation remembers.
04 — How the Alpha grew
Each Alpha release added a usable part of life rather than a disconnected demo. The early releases established Aurelia and its institutions; the newest ones focus on what a player can plan, share, visit, and understand during an ordinary day.
Aurelia opened with characters, cities, work, markets, elections, enterprise, and an underworld. It established the simulation clock and the first public record.
World contracts, autonomous residents, protected multiplayer contact, families, aging, and succession made a life continue after the browser closed.
Travel, vehicles, careers, education, health, housing, possessions, banking, debt, and insurance gave everyday decisions material consequences.
Civilizations, Epochs, Chronicles, accessibility controls, archives, and recovery tools extended the game beyond one modern setting.
Markets, government agencies, courts, due process, public budgets, and accountable ownership deepened collective life.
Geography, culture, newsrooms, contested information, public directories, and World access made the wider simulation easier to enter and read.
Arrival, identity, accessibility, player guidance, and clearer public explanations improved the path from account creation to a first meaningful choice.
Historical lives gained stronger balance, transition rules, research foundations, and recovery checks across very different eras.
Era-specific places, households, branching choices, private archives, and long-run trials supported lives that unfold over years.
Kinship, seasonal care, conflict repair, estates, succession, and generation continuity connected personal history to descendants.
Work, bonds, household branches, seasonal pressure, milestones, and annual summaries made the passage of time easier to follow.
World creation, continuity promises, safety controls, responsible play, and dependable operations prepared the simulation for a broader audience.
Always-moving Worlds, quieter releases, operational recovery, live updates, and larger populations strengthened long-term continuity.
Readiness reviews, portfolio tools, public opening controls, and the Long Chronicle made World progress measurable.
A wider span of history, smoother Epoch transitions, stronger review tools, and reliable live operation joined the timeline together.
Long-duration trials, difficult transitions, regional detail, load checks, and restoration exercises tested the foundations under pressure.
Expert review packets, language preparation, player testing tools, World admission, and recovery controls made gaps easier to see.
The planned Epoch collection and alternative settings joined the World directory with their own rules, populations, and starting conditions.
Twenty public Worlds began operating together while keeping their populations, histories, economies, and rules independent.
Historical catalogs and distinct regional profiles added more specific institutions, material life, culture, language, and local context.
Research records, review packets, translation preparation, accessibility checks, and evidence runs strengthened the playtesting foundation.
Life Compass, World Stories, Journey Planner, Opportunity Matching, and a unified Today view connected long-range plans to daily choices.
Promises, boundaries, favors, repair, gatherings, and household responsibilities turned relationships into playable shared history.
The Living Map added local conditions, alerts, visits, bookmarks, and community projects, followed by a compact four-part navigation system.
World entry and exit are now explicit, the public release history is chronological, account sessions last, and blocked actions stay inside the relevant game page.
05 — What players can expect
Set who can find, message, trade with, invite, or challenge you. Blocking works in both directions, and private profile details stay private unless you share them.
Claims, investigations, official decisions, trades, and public changes keep dates and supporting details so you can see why an outcome occurred.
The World continues, but routines and plans do not punish daily absence. When you return, Today gathers the changes and unfinished work that concern your life.
